The History of Betta Beta Communications is written into 3,000 hours of Broadcast Quality Television over 30 years. Thats an average of 2 hours a week finished product. And we were the first, in South Africa - in fact, one of the first in the World - with the Betacam broadcast system.

More than 200 Broadcast and Corporate Clients, have been with us since 1981 and before - many still are.

3 EMMY nominations spread over 30 years between us, means that we are International.

Milestones include two hundred and sixty five “Drivetime” half hours for NNTV and SABC3. One hundred and thirty five “Twistgrip” half hours for M-Net Supersport.

Over four hundred – both internal and broadcast programs completed for the Nedcor Banking Group and affiliated companies.

Numerous local and International awards have been won – the first, a Gold at the New York Film Festival in 1971 - the latest being two Creative Excellence Awards at the Chicago Film & Video Festival in 2001, for two episodes, in the 13 part travel/adventure series “Wings over Africa”.

This series is currently on international release along with the 13 part drama series “Tales of Mystery and Imagination” from Edgar Allan Poe, through Indigo Factual in London .

From March 2002 to now, Betta Beta Communications has provided ongoing satellite, broadcast camera and editing expertise, for the Fox News Channel, in Afghanistan , Jordan , Qatar and Iraq.

Currently pilot programming is in production for a 13 part African Travel/Adventure program for International release titled “Bright Tales from the Dark Continent ”.

13 One Hours are in the research/planning stage about the Liberation Wars in Southern and Central Africa for Discovery/History Channel EMEA

Also providing technical support for “Voices”, a proposed series of 1 Hour programs in the pilot stage of production. The first program on Lebanon was recently completed.

"African Proverbs" - an initial 52 x 4 minutes, for distribution throughout the terrestial broadcasters in Africa , is currently in production. Also - an initial 2 year eco tourism development progress shoot with 3 x half hour and 1 x hour programmes to complete as stages develop. 

Lee Doig has been a main line shooter on the Mark Burnett/CBS show - "Survivor". During 2004 in Vanuatu & Palau. 2005 in Guatemala and Panama 2006 in Fiji and again in Panama. In 2007 the initial series of "Pirates of the Caribbean" for the same production company in Dominica. Also in 2007 back with "Survivor" in China and again in Palau .

Starting in June 2007 we have been retained by Eurovision to guarantee a 6 camera live feed out of South Africa for International News broadcasts on special projects.

With over 12,000 broadcast quality tapes in the stock library, shot over the last 30 years, on all continents - BETTA BETA COMMUNICATIONS is in the unique position of being able to offer their clients, a real script to screen service to INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS.

Same team, same talent, same location, same reputation, with many of the same satisfied clients, for over 30 years. There is not a production facility in South Africa that can better THAT.
